MLB Pick 4/3/19 (8-2 Record This Season!)
Chicago White Sox vs Cleveland Indians (1:10 PM)
Corey Kluber (0-1) and the offensively challenged Indians (2-2) take on Carlos Rodon (0-1) and the White Sox (1-3) this afternoon in the final game of a two-game series. After scoring only six runs in their first 34 innings this season, the Indians scored four runs in the eighth inning of last night's game to secure a 5-3 victory.
Kluber pitched a good Opening Day game this season but was outdueled by Twins pitcher Jose Berrios. Kluber pitched six scoreless innings before giving up two runs in the seventh inning. Kluber only gave up four hits in the game, but the lack of run support from his team landed Kluber the L in a 2-0 loss to the Twins.
Rodon's first start wasn't half bad either. Rodon pitched only 5 1/3 innings but only gave up two earned runs in a 5-3 loss to the Royals. Rodon only gave up three hits and one walk in the game while striking out six.
Offensive Rankings: Runs: Chicago 14th, Cleveland 26th Hits: Chicago 21st, Cleveland 29th Walks: Chicago 12th, Cleveland 14th
- Chicago is 2-5 ATS in its last 7 games.
- Chicago is 1-8 SU in its last 9 games.
- Chicago is 1-10 in its last 11 games on the road against Cleveland.
- Cleveland is 2-4 ATS at home in its last 6 games.
- Cleveland is 11-3 ATS in its last 14 games against Chicago.
Expect this one to be a low scoring affair, but 6.5 runs is a little too low to gamble on. Instead, put the money down on the Indians ML. Both pitchers should pitch well today against offenses that haven't been anything special so far this season. Kluber should pitch an extra inning or so and exit the game with the lead. The Indians bullpen should be able to come in a finish the job giving Kluber his first win of the season and starting a nice two-game winning streak for the Indians. This game should end up in the Indians favor by a score in the range of 3-1.
Best pick is Cleveland ML-176
